WATCH: Can we beat the Isle of Man TT lap record?

Join us as John dons his leathers and heads to the Isle of Man to ride on the infamous Snaefell Tourist Trophy circuit. His aim? To beat Peter Hickman’s 16m 42.772s lap record – an average speed of over 135mph…

Inspired by the TT’s recent return after a Covid-enforced sabbatical, John was determined to learn all 37.73 miles of the Isle of Man loop – faithfully rendered in Kylotonn’s TT Isle of Man – Ride on the Edge 2.

The game features an impressive handling model, but the TT track itself is undoubtedly the star – speeding through the town of Kirkmichael at 160mph is a videogame experience to be savoured.

The TT circuit is dangerous, very dangerous. This fact is reinforced when John has a huge moment at Ballagarey – to which he says “it’s not worth the risk”. He then takes the next corner at 195mph. Must be a racing driver thing.

Anyway, can John beat the TT lap record and join the pantheon of Scottish TT heroes like Steve Hislop and …err Steve Hislop? Watch and find out!
