A brand new sim racing steering wheel has been unveiled by Virtual Racing School, and it has been first showcased by the ESL R1 competitors.
During the inaugural championship race using the Rennsport platform, the competition begins with two LAN rounds, which means equal equipment for all competitors – and the decade-old company is the official partner.
First seen in early prototype form way back at the Rennsport Summit 1 in Munich, May 2022, finally the DirectForce Pro Formula Steering Wheel has been unveiled and will be available to reserve soon.
VRS’ first-ever steering wheel – the VRS DirectForce Pro is a 20Nm wheel base, which consumers could only purchase third-party wheels for until now – features magnetic-action gear shifter paddles that utilise hall sensors, plus progressive clutch levers.
We also make out what appears to be 14 buttons, two joysticks, three rotary encoders and two larger red switches.
The grips are made from rubber, the buttons and knobs are CNC machined and the front plate is 5mm-thick aluminium.
Further details are not yet available, and pricing is set to be revealed at a later date. It will, however, be available from March 2023.
