  • VNR Electric is available via the Quick Jobs menu only

Two new Volvo trucks have been released for American Truck Simulator. The free update is available now and adds the 2025 Volvo VNL and VNR Electric to SCS Software’s driving sim.

Both trucks have been painstakingly reproduced in fine detail by the Czech studio, with Volvo focusing on improving efficiency through revised aerodynamics. Both cockpits are suitably modern, too, replete with digital dashboards,

This is especially apparent on the VNR Electric, which has to eke out every possible aero gain to achieve its 275-mile range.

While the VNL is available via the in-game Volvo Trucks dealership, the VNR Electric is exclusively accessible via the Quick Jobs menu, with an ‘emergency charge’ feature highlighting the work-in-progress nature of ATS’s electric infrastructure (it’s a real-world issue, too, if we’re being pragmatic).

The trucks come with an array of customisation options too, including chassis types, paint jobs and accessories, with a special themed livery for the SCS box trailer.

The new additions represent the culmination of a close relationship between SCS and Volvo, with the firm’s Gothenburg-based Volvo Experience Center recently replicated in the studio’s sister title, Euro Truck Simulator 2.
