The first paid downloadable content of 2023 for rFactor 2 has been announced in the form Long Beach.

The Californian street circuit hosts the yearly Grand Prix event for both IndyCar and the WeatherTech IMSA SportsCar championships and is located south of Los Angeles.

The first race happened here in 1975, with the first IndyCar Grand Prix taking place nine years later. It’s known for a series of 90-degree turns and a punishing hairpin turn to end the lap before heading onto the Shoreline Drive.

Oh, and a fountain. Don’t forget the fountain.

The venue has been laser scanned for the rFactor 2 simulation and will form part of the platform’s Q1 2023 update.

Pricing and the release date are not yet confirmed, but it will be sometime during this month, February 2023.

This will sit alongside a revision to the tyre model and balance of performance for GT3 cars, plus the ability to race online against people without having to own all of the content used by others on the server. Rejoice!
