A four-race multi-class IMSA Esports Global Championship will begin at a virtual Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta on 24th November.
Once again using iRacing, and in partnership with Germany’s Virtual Competition Organisation (VCO), a $25,000 prize pool is on the line.
$12,500 spread across the top 10 of the GTP category, and a further $12,500 for GTD – the teams’ championship is the only one that counts for points and therefore prizes.
Entry slots have been reserved for successful full teams in last season’s similar competition: Team Redline, VRS Coanda and Williams Esports in GTP, Team Redline and Drago Racing in GTD.
VRS Coanda won in GTP and Team Redline in GTD in 2023.
This time, there will be a schedule of pre-qualifiers (via an iRacing Time Attack) for the public – so any driver and team could take part, provided the team registers with IMSA and posts strong enough qualifying results. The Time Attack runs from 21st October to 28th October 2024.
There will also be a ‘car shootout’ to determine which team uses which car.
Each race will be two hours and 40 minutes in length and will feature a live broadcast on IMSA and iRacing’s Facebook, Twitch and YouTube channels. Further information is listed below.
