Talk about kicking your rivals when you’re down, players can now purchase The Crew 2 for $1.
It follows confirmation that the online-only game will receive some form of offline mode and a torrid week for fellow open-world racing game Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown.
The second game in Ubisoft’s open-world driving franchise was originally released nearly six years ago but has since received a steady flow of new content and updates – even as recently as 2024.
For a limited time only, the game has a massive 98% discount for digital purchasers across PC, PlayStation and Xbox:
- PC Steam: $1 / £0.84
- PlayStation 4: $0.99 / £0.79
- Xbox One: $1 / £0.80
Recently, cars such as the Gordon Murray Automotive T.50 and Land Rover Defender V8 110 (2022) were added to the ageing game first, before being added to its successor, The Crew Motorfest, via the car import system.
By now, the development of fresh content for the USA-based title has stopped, but the online servers are still active. If has an environment believed to be between 5,000 and 7,000 km² in size, and allows for online co-op gameplay.
Motorfest, meanwhile, was released in 2023 with much-improved visuals and car handling. It is set to receive a second year of support, including a new island in November.
This discount is set to end 21st September 2024.
