Le Mans Ultimate’s development continues apace as developer Studio 397 has today (22nd September 2023) revealed screenshots of Spa-Francorchamps in the official game of the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC).

What’s most interesting is that Le Mans Ultimate will use the updated version of the track, which was first used by WEC on the 7th of May 2022.

The latest configuration of Spa features revisions to Raidillon and Speaker’s Corner, with bigger run-off areas and new buildings added to the former, and a new motorcycle-friendly cut-through added to the latter.

Not all of those corners are showcased in the new screenshots, but it’s clear that the venue has been updated to be more in line with the current layout, including different kerbs and the painted Eau Rouge-Raidillon run-off.

The biggest alteration in the real world is the replacement of asphalt run-off areas at La Source, Blanchimont, Les Combes, Speaker’s Corner and Stavelot in favour of gravel traps; eliminating track limit abuses and punishing driver errors in one stroke.

Le Mans Ultimate is set to include WEC’s roster of LMDh, LMH, LMP2 and GTE cars, plus a full calendar of tracks, with first looks at Monza and the Algarve International Circuit already teased.

Players can also expect online co-op and the RaceControl ranked online mode, with physics inspired by the studio’s previous title, rFactor 2. Le Mans Ultimate is expected to be released on PC via Steam in December 2023, with console versions unconfirmed but not ruled out.
