Skill-based multiplayer arrives for Assetto Corsa Competizione on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S

Seasons by SimGrid in partnership with G Portal aims to provide ranked ACC multiplayer on consoles via a companion service.

Skill-based multiplayer arrives for Assetto Corsa Competizione on PS5 and Xbox Series XS

A new feature within the community racing platform SimGrid will allow for ranked online multiplayer and ‘daily’ races within Assetto Corsa Competizione on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

As Kunos Simulazioni’s simulation does not natively support such systems, on PC, third-party companies have created systems to track results, ratings and splits.

To date, this has been absent on consoles. A new Seasons feature within SimGrid changes that.

To take part, drivers register on the SimGrid website and within the Seasons area, select a race to participate in. Server details will then be provided, which in turn are inputted into the PlayStation or Xbox versions of ACC.

Once a race is completed, prior results can be viewed on SimGrid. A Grid Rating will also be attributed based on performance, and it is this score that will then determine which split players are entered subsequently.

Initially, there are four race types. One is free to enter, the remaining three requiring a SimGrid Pass (formerly SimGrid Pro and inclusive of, among other items, enhanced stat tracking, performance analysis and removal of adverts) for $5.99 per month:

  • Quick Race – Free – 12-minute GT3 races, no qualifying
  • Proving Grounds – SimGrid Pro – 20-minute GT3 races, plus a qualifying session
  • 30 min Dash – SimGrid Pro – Largely self-explanatory GT3 races
  • Mini Enduro – SimGrid Pro – Longer 45-minute GT3 races including pitstops

Each season will last for six weeks, with the feature launching today 19th June 2024.
