rFactor 2 to add Brands Hatch in May’s Q2 Content Drop

Continuing from Monday’s Donington Park announcement, Brands Hatch Circuit is the latest venue that’s been announced for the rFactor 2 Q2 content drop coming in May. Another English course, located in West Kingsdown, Kent, Brands Hatch has a storied history dating all the way back to 1930s.

Officially opened in 1950, Brands Hatch has seen several reconfigurations over the years. The current iteration of the track ranks at FIA Grade 2 and has two layouts, both of which will be included in the content drop.

The Grand Prix layout is the main course, measuring 3.916-kilometers or 2.433-miles in length with nine turns included. There is also the much smaller Indy layout which utilizes the tail of the course, including the main straight and the pit road. It‘s a diminutive 1.944-kilometers (1.208-miles) altogether and has only six corners.

Brands Hatch hosts a number of different racing series from all around the world. EuroNASCAR is one of their current visitors, as is the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC), the GT World Challenge Europe and the British Superbike Championship.

The May BTCC event will feature the Indy Circuit while the October event will be on the Grand Prix layout. Brands Hatch has also hosted the European and British Grand Prix in Formula 1, but not since 1986.

This is another laser scanned venue heading to rFactor 2 and will also be the latest virtual edition of the track, similar to Donington Park when that also releases.

Sim racers can also find Brands Hatch in popular sims such as iRacing, Assetto Corsa Competizione and the RaceRoom Racing Experience.
