Sim racing game Rennsport has teased the second of three cars to be added in an upcoming DLC pack.
The BMW M1 Procar is the next to be seen in a shadowy video with the caption “A real pro.”
Based on the road-going M1, a mid-engined supercar partly developed by Lamborghini, the Procar was meant to be a Group 4 regular race version. However, a rule change left BMW without a series to run its new track model in.

So it created its own ‘one-make’ series, with a field of M1 Procars running in 1979 and 1980. It managed to attract several big motorsport stars to compete, with Niki Lauda and Nelson Piquet winning the two titles.
Each car was identical. That is to say, a 470bhp (at a heady 9,000rpm) straight-six engine plus an evocative aero kit, with large flared arches and a giant rear wing.
