RaceRoom redesigns its HUD, expands multiplayer grids

RaceRoom Racing Experience has already confirmed new DTM 2026 vehicles (including the Ford Mustang, Aston Martin Vantage and Lamborghini Temerario), and recently, a 2026-spec Nürburgring Nordschleife venue.

Now it has also confirmed changes to its multiplayer systems and HUD.

The HUD is a particularly major feature, and another stage in the complete redesign of RaceRoom’s major functions.

Last year, it added a native ranked multiplayer system, which not only added daily races, but also a fresh menu design. This was then expanded upon with the recent championships. However, the rest of the sim mostly uses an ageing look, including the HUD, which you see every time you hit the track.

Once the next update arrives, expected next month, the in-race information will continue this latest design, dubbed ‘COSMO UI’. Every element is said to be customisable, from size, placement or even removing altogether.

The multi-function display is now said to show relative, lap, vehicle and pit data. Meanwhile, creator tyre, brake and vehicle information is claimed.

The map is updated too, with different classes shown in different hues, while the race timing and standings area has also been overhauled.

The aim is to be easier to understand while simultaneously offering granular detail. We’ll see if that’s the case upon release. A Grid Talk YouTube episode on RaceRoom’s channel, 30th July, is expected to showcase the HUD in action.

RaceRoom new netcode

One area you can’t see, yet, is what RaceRoom describes as “improved multiplayer netcode”.

This should allow greater grids, with 50 drivers recently being tested. It should result in cleaner, and closer racing, with more stable events. The true test will be during large special events, which RaceRoom has been curating more of so far throughout 2026. It states that “more large-grid testing” is planned.
