Details of a new racing sim focusing on Argentinian motorsport have emerged, as Assetto Corsa mod developer REG Simulations sinks its teeth into full-blown game development.
Best known for its virtual depictions of tracks like Autodromo de Rosario and the Kartodromo de Buenos Aires, REG intends to bring scratch-built circuits and vehicles to PISTA Motorsport, using LiDAR data for optimal realism.
The team has already stated it will bring Autodromo de Rosario to its nascent sim, with plans for a ground-up rendition of the newly renovated Autódromo Roberto José Mouras circuit, plus Autódromo San Nicolás.
In terms of vehicles, REG has confirmed it will bring the real-world Class 1 Fiat Uno from the Turismo Pista series to the sim, with a converted version of its Fiat 600 Assetto Corsa mod also teased.
More cars are promised, with REG aiming to replicate the pathway of Argentinian motorsport (albeit potentially featuring content from other South American countries), from karting upwards.
With dynamic puddle formation and track drying set to be featured, REG is showing its ambition in creating a national motorsport simulator with advanced features. However, no details have been revealed regarding its game engine, performance requirements or multiplayer systems as of yet.
PISTA Motorsport is available to Wishlist on Steam now, with a release date yet to be announced.
