New Royal Mode unveiled for Trackmania at Ubisoft Forward

Our current favourite free-to-play time-based track-focussed PC racing game, Trackmania, has received a brand-new update that brings with it a new mode.

Trackmania Royal Mode

Royal Mode, unveiled during Ubisoft’s E3 20201 Forward event, allows 60 players to form 30 teams of two and compete against each other across 20 randomly selected maps. A new map will be introduced every day, with each race lasting 15 minutes and a maximum of five rounds.

There is also a ‘Super Royal’ mode to compete against the world’s very best players.

The update is themed around summer, featuring bright colours and even water. There will be new physics too that enable your car to bounce, like skimming a stone across a lake, or dive.

Of course, the water features alongside newly styled environment blocks and animated objects within the game’s extensive track creator/editor. The whole theme reminds us of Fall Guys. But with cars.

Trackmania 2021 Summer update

This latest update arrives ahead of the Trackmania Cup esports event on 4th July 2021. Have you been playing, or even subscribing, to the current Trackmania? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
