The open-world Japanese racing and drifting game continues to evolve, even in its free prologue stage.
While we await a release date for the full Japanese Drift Master video game, its free aperitif has received new content and features.
JDM: Rise of the Scorpion was released on PC earlier this year and a preview of the full game, with a specific story and smaller world to provide a taste of things to come.
It also allowed its developer Gaming Factory to receive community feedback – and to that end online leaderboard support has been added to the burgeoning challenge mode.
The feature, that sees you try to set the best score outside of the main traversal and magna-inspired story, was added in August, but now there should be heightened incentive to play.
It is here where you can get behind the wheel of three new licenced cars, including the latest Subaru BRZ:
- Mazda RX8
- Mazda MX-5 (NA)
- Subaru BRZ (II)
Alongside the fresh content, support for Moza Racing’s HGP Shifter and HBP Handbrake has now been added, alongside steering wheel presets for its R5 steering wheel.
Rise of the Scorpion has been integrated within the full JDM title on the Steam Store too as a demo.
