My First Gran Turismo: How to unlock everything

Shop sim racing equipment

My First Gran Turismo is an easy-to-approach racing game that eases you behind the driver’s seat through a series of tutorials and tests.

But, it is perhaps not immediately clear how to unlock all 18 cars available in your collection and certain game modes.

Fret not. Here’s a list of every item and area that you can unlock, and how to do so. But first, some general tips.

There’s no requirement to earn a gold rating

While aiming for the higher silver and gold times and results in My Gran Turismo events, in order to unlock everything you only need to pass the bronze conditions.

For the races, you only need to finish within the top 5, and the difficulty level (beginner level, Intermediate Level, Professional Level) doesn’t affect your rewards or game progress.

Although, for those experienced with the full Gran Turismo 7 experience, going for gold and first is all part of the fun…

How to unlock races in My Gran Turismo

Racing against opponents within My Gran Turismo is initially a locked game mode. To obtain access you must complete the National A Licence within the Licence Centre.

In order to start that licence, you must first complete the introductory tutorial and then the final National B licence tests to bronze or higher level.

National A is then unlocked and completing those five challenges to bronze or higher opens up the ‘races’ area.

My First Gran Turismo Passport congrats

This unlocks the ending movie, which is a glorified advert for Gran Turismo 7, and also the My First Gran Turismo Passport.

This passport is tied to your PlayStation Network account. If you then buy and play Gran Turismo 7, the passport delivers all 18 cars from My First Gran Turismo into your GT7 garage in the form of redeemable prize tickets.

If you already own Gran Turismo 7, the prizes still appear for you, and if you happen to own the prize cars already, you can sell them for credits.
