My First Gran Turismo a ‘homage’ to series original

My First Gran Turismo is set to be a new instalment in the Gran Turismo franchise when it launches later this year.

The first PlayStation console went on sale in December 1994, with this December marking its 30th anniversary. To celebrate, the Japanese electronics giant will be reminiscing through re-released soundtracks, board games and a new racing title by Polyphony Digital.

Details are scarce presently, but My First GT will use the basis of Gran Turismo 7 to create a fresh free trial. According to Sony, it will include cars, tracks and events that “evoke the nostalgia and excitement” of the nearly 27-year-old first instalment.

So long as it starts with a gameplay montage set to a Manic Street Preachers remix, then the Traxion team will be satisfied.

Further details are expected in the coming months, with the title developed for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
