Chinese sim racing peripheral manufacturer MOZA Racing has announced its flagship R21 Direct Drive Wheel Base is being stocked once again in its web store – and at a reduced price.
Originally released in 2021 as a direct rival to Fanatec’s Podium Wheel Base DD, the R21 features a hefty 21Nm of peak torque. Its popularity has led to stock shortages, so the recent re-stock is welcome news for sim racers looking to enter the direct drive market.

Although similar to MOZA’s R16, MOZA describes the R21 as the first electric vehicle-grade motor used in the sim racing industry; using a split-lobe micro slot stator and fractional slot concentrated windings to produce a 30% increase in torque.
The R21 also features a triple staggered slanted pole rotor which reduces vibration at the hands of the user. The R21 is available at the reduced price of $1099 (before shipping and taxes) from MOZA’s website, with the R16 also reduced to $899.
