The inaugural EICMA ESPORTS MX Championship will combine online championship rounds with a live, in-person, final at the L’Esposizione Internazionale delle due ruote (EICMA) this November.

Using the MXBIKES PC simulator and in collaboration with Init Esports, the competition will begin with four online races at Italian venues: Maggiora, Arco, Montova and Riola.

There will be branded EICMA prizes for the podium finishers of each round before the top 10 in the championship standings will be invited to an all-expenses-paid trip to the show later this year for the in-person final.

To be held on 11th November 2023, they will race in front of a live audience on a recreation of the Motolive track used at the event.

The top three finishers will win trips for two to the Qatar MotoGP round in 2024, including various levels of hire cars, hotels and travel. They will also compete as part of a ‘VIP’ sim car race at the EICMA event. Finishers further down the order can win trips to SBK and MGP rounds.

“We meet the kids where they are, online. By giving them a chance to have an incredible experience, we can foster interest in our beloved industry and cultivate important relationships with the leaders of tomorrow,” said Stefy Bau, CEO of Init Esports.

EICMA, the yearly motorcycle pilgrimage held in Milan, Italy, is Europe’s leading two-wheeled show each year. It was established over 109 years ago and attracted over 400,000 visitors in 2022.

Each round will be broadcast live for those at home on both the Init Esports and EICMA Twitch channels and registration is now open.
