Honestly, Long Beach Street Circuit is coming imminently to iRacing. It’s expected to join at the beginning of 2021 Season 1 (9th December 2020).
It’s not the first time that the track has joined the service though. All the way back in 2013, the circuit was released as a “Tech Track”. At the time, that was the first of its kind – a scanned track but without all of the trackside furniture completely 3D modelled for the reduced rate of $5. It was pretty cool but wasn’t easy on the eyes. You can check it out here.
There’s some good news for owners of that original content though. iRacing will be crediting you with the $5 you’ve already spent on the test track. The bad news is if you want the new and very pretty version will cost you almost 3x that – $14.95.
The circuit is most known for it’s IndyCar events (it did host some F1 on a different layout in the 70s and 80s) and will, no doubt, be a challenging addition to the iRacing service’s roster of tracks.
