iRacing 2025 Special Events Calendar

On the face of it, iRacing’s Special Event calendar for 2025 hasn’t changed much.

It still begins with the Roar, followed by the Daytona 24, then there are staples such as the Daytona 500, Bathurst 12, Bathurst 1000, Sebring 12, Indy 500, Coke 600 and Brickyard 400.

But dig a little deeper and you’ll spot some fresh additions and some significant changes.

Firstly, any event that runs the GTP cars will also allow the LMH Ferrari 499P to race alongside – a class of cars that will see changes to tyres and hybrid systems across the year.

The Nürburgring 24h ditches the Toyota GR86 for this coming season, instead placing the new BMW M2 CS Racing, which is no additional cost to current subscribers. This event was initially announced without touring cars, but that fifth TCR category has since been added.

Following two years at Fuji Speedway, the November race in Japan switches back to Suzuka, as in 2022. Following a reinsertion last season, once again the Indy 500 is on the schedule.

Then there are new events. For a British person who is a fan of touring cars, seeing the recently released Thruxton venue used for a Special Event is particularly interesting.

The format is perhaps a bit unorthodox, a four-hour race in TCR cars eschew common touring car logic – but still a big event as Thruxton. Never thought I’d see the day…

Then the classic (perhaps, retro) GT2 Ford GT, GT1 Aston and Corvette plus the ancient HPD ARX 01c will take part in the Portimao 1000km.
