The fifth week of iRacing’s Fanatec GT Challenge brings racers to the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari, or Imola for short. Once again, we present another spectacular track guide for the coming race week, courtesy of Dave Cam. As always, we’re in the Porsche 911 GT3 R with a Traxion.GG design made by DriveThrough.
The disclaimer, as always, is that this guide is not for hot lapping. It may help you in future hot lapping abilities, but that’s not what we’re here for today. Dave will show the right corners to curb, hop, and run as wide as possible. He’ll also show some tips on where to brake, where to enter, and what gear is best to get through cleanly.
Imola once hosted the Italian Grand Prix and the San Marino Grand Prix, up until 2006. In 2020, after a COVID-19 race cancellation in China, Imola returned as a one-off named the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. Again on the schedule for 2021 following another cancellation, the 3.05-mile, 4.91-kilometer circuit has seen revisions in recent years. The current layout, dubbed the Grand Prix layout on iRacing, was finalized in 2008.
Back to Dave, who has me looking out for lighter color on paint lines now to know when to brake, his guide this week has a few upgrades thanks to all of your input. Check out the new layout of the guide, revisit his first four weeks, and let us know your successes. We’d love to hear all about it!
