The online racing community management tool Grid Finder has partnered with America’s International Motor Sports Association to provide themed virtual racing events.
The duo kicked off the association today, with the first activation set to be an iRacing IMSA hot lap challenge series. Those who participate could win IMSA-related prizes, the time attacks sitting alongside title sponsorship of the platform’s IMSA Grid Finder Endurance Series.
Multiple Grid Finder Time Attack Servers are set to launch before the completion of the real-world race in the IMSA schedule.
“It’s an honour to be trusted by IMSA to host a gaming community to engage fans of the iconic IMSA racing series,” said Tom Bunten, CEO of Grid Finder.
“We’re excited to build a long-term friendship that delivers genuine value and excitement for motorsport fans through gaming.”
The collaboration is touted as ‘comprehensive’ and ‘evolving’ aiming to expand IMSA’s gaming community across multiple titles. IMSA-related liveries, car setups and merchandise are said to be part of the future roadmap.
Further details about the initial iRacing hot lap challenge are expected at a later date.
