The third instalment of The Crew franchise, Motorfest, has been four years in development and is about to launch into the world. Ahead of the general release date, there are ways and means of accessing the open-world racing game by Ubisoft Ivory Rower early. Here’s how.
The Crew Motorfest general release date
The Crew Motorfest will be released on 14th September 2023 on the following platforms:
- PC (Ubisoft and Epic)
- PlayStation 4
- PlayStation 5
- Xbox One
- Xbox Series X|S
This is the regular, standard edition, of the game, and the earliest you can play it is the 14th.
How to play The Crew Motorfest ahead of launch
You can play The Crew Motorfest from 11th September 2023, three days early, if you buy one of two digital-only versions of the game.
- Gold Edition
- Ultimate Edition
Both the Gold Edition and Ultimate Edition of The Crew Motorfest provide early access to the game from 11th September, three days ahead of general release.
These versions are digital only for PC, PlayStation and Xbox and are not to be confused with the physical-only Limited Edition which does not come with early access.
For those on PC who subscribe to the Ubisoft+ game library service, the Ultimate Edition of The Crew Motorfest will be included to play from 11th September 2023. The ‘Multi Access’ version of the service which includes some titles also available via Xbox or Amazon Luna excludes The Crew Motorfest on those additional platforms.

The Crew Motorfest pre-load options
If you decide to pre-order the digital Gold or Ultimate Editions of The Crew Motorfest, there are various options for pre-loading the game. This avoids downloading the full game on the 11th, and thus it’s ready and waiting for the unlock.
Below are the dates pre-loading for digital-only pre-orders unlock for Gold and Ultimate versions with early access. Again, this is not when you can play, but when you can start downloading:
- PC (Ubisoft Connect) – 9th September, 9 am BST / 10 am CEST
- PS4 and PS5 – 9th September, 9 am BST / 10 am CEST
- Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S – 8th September 2023
Pre-loading is also available for the digital standard edition on the dates listed below. However, just to be clear, you cannot play the game until the 14th in this scenario:
