Back in July, Creative Director Chris Esaki explained that the full steering wheel peripheral compatibility for the new Forza Motorsport would be released in due time.

Today, 22nd August 2023, is that day.

The full list has been published by the Forza Support pages, and for those on Xbox Series X|S the list ticks all the major boxes.

The direct drive Fanatec CSL DD, DD1, DD2 and Logitech G PRO devices are supported, alongside the relatively recent Thrustmaster T128 and T248 wheels. Perennial sales leaders, the Logitech G920 and G923 are also on the list alongside Fanatec’s popular, if now older, ClubSport add-ons. The full list is below.

On PC, those same devices are listed, but as there is an expanded sim racing wheel marketplace on this platform, understandably there are more that work with Turn 10 Studios’ latest racer.

This includes the Fanatec GT DD, the classic Logitech Driving Force GT, Thrustmaster’s debut direct drive unit the T818 and the venerable T150 and T300 variants. MOZA Racing’s R9 direct drive wheel base is also supported, provided you use the CS and GS wheels.

However, further MOZA devices such as the entry-level R5 or mid-tier R12 are notable only by their absence, as are any devices by Simucube, VRS and Asetek SimSports. Heusinkveld pedals are also seemingly omitted.

It does support DirectInput API, however, so even if your device isn’t on the natively-supported list, this could be a workaround. So, while it wouldn’t automatically assign settings and buttons, you should be able to manually set it up.

The development team claims that the latest Forza Motorsport title has improved force feedback and wheel inputs than prior games in the series, but we’ll await hands-on testing before delivering a verdict.

It comes as the Nurburgring Grand Prix circuit has been announced as part of the roster, with additional free tracks, including the Nordschleife, expected in 2024.
