EA and Codemasters have outlined what will be available in their much-anticipated EA SPORTS WRC title, with its Rally Pass system explained in a blog post today (18th October 2023).

First and foremost, the team behind the latest officially licenced WRC game has assured players that all of the game’s currently announced 78 cars and 200+ rally stages will be available at launch and will not require additional purchases.

Secondly, there will be no paid-for in-game currency or so-called ‘booster packs’ in EA SPORTS – but there will be five seasons of Rally Pass content available split into three tiers.

The first tier is the free Rally Pass, with tier two – VIP Rally Pass – free to those who pre-order the game (or £5.99/$5.99/€5.99 for those who do not). A third tier is available for EA Play subscribers only.

We’ve outlined all the details below.

EA SPORTS WRC's Rally Pass rewards systems explained

What is the EA SPORTS WRC Rally Pass?

EA SPORTS WRC Rally Pass is a free, five-season system by which players can unlock new driver gloves, racing suits and helmet designs for their customised driving avatar.

New decals for the livery editor and new liveries for the 2023 WRC Rally1 Hybrid machines from Ford, Hyundai and Toyota can also be earned.

Each Rally Pass season has 20 levels, with XP (experience points) earned through driving across the game’s various modes and disciplines.

What is the EA SPORTS WRC VIP Rally Pass?

The EA SPORTS WRC VIP Rally Pass follows the same schedule as the WRC Rally Pass but offers additional content to unlock, including three sets of racing suits, gloves, helmets, caps and Rally1 liveries every season.

The VIP Rally Pass will cost £5.99/$5.99/€5.99 per season, but is available for free to players who pre-order the game – which appears to be a good deal.

EA SPORTS WRC EA Play Rewards

Players who also subscribe to the EA Play service will also be entitled to additional racing suits, gloves, helmets, caps and Rally1 liveries in every Rally Pass season, as well as additional in-game ‘Moments’ scenarios.
