Things are going to get dicey for Dave Cam in today’s weekly run of the iRacing GR Cup Series. With 2023 iRacing Season 1, Dave is taking on the new and official GR86 Cup season, vying for as high of a place as he can get in iRacing official points standings for the series over 12 weeks of racing.
The Toyota GR86 is free-with-subscription to iRacing as of the 2023 Season 1 build. With the new, official series on the calendar as a result, which spans a healthy mix of included tracks with some paid content sprinkled in, Dave is putting his best foot forward, qualifying and racing for wins this season.
Dave opened his series with a photo finish second place at VIRginia International Raceway, but last week saw him take the top step of the podium with a convincing victory at Okayama International Circuit. This week, it’s a free-for-all at the always chaotic Lime Rock Park in Salisbury, Connecticut.
Starting in third place, things will get a bit physical, as they tend to at the 1.53-mile / 2.46-kilometer venue. This is the Grand Prix layout on iRacing, which features a chicane in what is normally Turn 5, between The No Name Straight and The Back Straight.
