We’re nearing the end of iRacing‘s 2023 Season 1, and that also means we’re nearing the end of Dave Cam’s title run in the iRacing GR Cup Series. Utilizing the new Toyota GR86 Cup car on the iRacing service, Dave is attempting to finish as high up in the official series points as possible by season’s end.
After nine weeks of racing, Dave sits 12th in the overall standings, that being out of more than 34,000 drivers participating in the series this season! However, he’s nearly 500 points behind the points leader, which will likely be nearly impossible to make up with drop weeks starting to take effect.
In these nine weeks, Dave has scored three wins and all of his top results have been at least a Top 5 finish. This includes last week’s event, which would be result in another runner-up finish at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. This week, Dave is taking his talents to Oulton Park’s International Circuit.
The inaugural calendar for the official GR Cup series has had some fun combinations with this new car. Dave enjoys Oulton Park’s 2.692-mile, 4.33-kilometer venue generally, however this week he feels like he’s missing a few tenths. It likely doesn’t help that this week, he’s going up against some top drivers.
