Movie Games’ Alaskan Road Truckers has finally been released for PC (via Steam) today, 18th October 2023.
The Polish studio’s title was beset by delays and a name change during its development, but players can now take to the diverse roads of the US state of Alaska at last.
No doubt inspired by the popularity of SCS Software’s American Truck Simulator, Alaskan Road Truckers aims to reimagine the truck sim recipe with players taking control of their truck driving-avatar’s daily needs; including maintaining their vehicle, eating and sleeping.
Unusually, this also means players can exit their truck and go for a wander, admiring the Alaskan landscape up close – in between deliveries, of course. Players can build up their trucking business by accepting bigger and more complicated loads, all the while battling an impressive dynamic weather system with day-to-night transitions.
The game’s release also coincides with a limited-time-only ‘Mother Truckers DLC’ pack, offering cosmetic items to help players customise their experience. Its contents are listed below.
Alaskan Road Truckers, Mother Trucker DLC contents
- A badass new character with tats to match
- ‘Flaming Hot’ truck decals
- The hottest hood ornaments in Alaska
- The ‘Cattle-Killer 5000’ grill
- ‘Climate Changer’ exhaust
- The ‘Ultra Deluxe’ cab light set
