CONSPIT ARES APEX 8Nm Direct Drive Wheelbase
Offering 8Nm of peak torque, the CONSPIT ARES APEX Direct Drive Wheelbase is an excellent starting point for most sim racers, providing enough power and headroom to make the most of your fledgling steps into virtual racing.
Featuring asymmetric dual processors for stable, high-speed performance and a high-resolution 21-bit magnetic encoder, the ARES APEX is set up to allow compatibility with any third-party steering wheel via CONSPIT’s USB-A Adapter Spacer.
Built from the ground up with sim racing in mind, the ARES Apex uses its skewed-pole design to minimise cogging and increase feel, with its passively cooled setup reducing noise levels.
Using CONSPIT’s proprietary Link 2.0 Pro software, players can also apply Driver Presets created by pro drivers at the touch of a button, with further improvements in feel coming from the latest V1.0.6 firmware.
Remarkably, for this price point, CONSPIT has attached its CPP Apex 2 Pedal Set to the ARES APEX bundle. The highlight of this is the hydraulically assisted brake pedal, offering the most realistic type of pressure feel based on ‘muscle memory’.
Using a dual-chamber setup, the brake pedal produces two-stage hydraulic and elastomer-based resistance, with a 10MPa hydraulic sensor measuring your overall input. Ultimate brake feel can be tailored to your preference by adding stiff elastomers, too.
The enclosed gas pedal uses a traditional Hall sensor to detect precise movements, with the whole item manufactured from a combination of aluminium alloy and carbon steel.
You can also add an optional clutch pedal to the pedal set, with a wall-mount bracket included for floor installation if you don’t have a full cockpit setup.
CONSPIT 310 APEX Steering Wheel and CDR Quick Release
The 310 APEX is CONSPIT’s flagship circular steering wheel and is packaged with the CDR Quick Release as part of the ARES APEX bundle to provide a stiffer and more professional-feeling connection with the wheelbase.
The 310 Apex comes replete with a 2.99-inch built-in LCD display and full support for SimHub and multiple rim styles.
The main structure of the 310 APEX is aluminium alloy, with 104 mappable inputs offered by its eight RGB buttons, two encoder dials, two seven-way funky switches, two 12-step rotary encoders, two paddle shifters and two analogue clutch paddles. Rest assured, there are plenty of buttons for even the most complicated racing sims.
Perhaps the biggest plus of the CONSPIT ARES APEX bundle is that you’ll be buying into the Chinese brand’s vast array of sim racing equipment.
