A panther symbolizes a predator amongst other species.

When it comes to esports, FURIA’s logo represents much more than that, though. The black cat is “an icon of resistance, fighting and active voice,” according to the team’s website, and resonates with the Brazilian lifestyle.

Since 2017, the FURIA brand created a name for itself through gaming and now they will join ESL R1 with a furious team of four drivers, too.

Caique Oliveira, Felipe Baptista, Jeff Giassi and Victor Veloso will suit up for the inaugural series, commencing on 11th February 2023.

Oliveira recently competed in the 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual in the # 95 Prodrive FYRA SimSports GTE car. He’s competed across many platforms and alongside current teammate Giassi, won the 2022 Porsche Esports championship with FYRA Simsport.

The two credit Baptista, a stock car driver for KTF SPORTS and Stock Car Pro Series, for his guidance in the big win. His real-world success is highlighted by a 2021 and 2020 Stock Series Brazil victory.

Veloso is also a pro driver and has competed against his fellow Brazilians in the country’s top esports series.

FURIA will pilot the BMW M4 GT3, sporting an epic livery that will debut at the first in-person ESL R1 event in Poland this February.
