Earlier in the month, we discussed some news coming from Reiza Studios about their upcoming AMS2 updates. Well, finally we’re seeing them come to fruition. Reiza are definitely seeing in the New Year with a bang, Automobilista adds to its extensive roster with a host of GT1 cars, a McLaren F1 LM and a very high-quality version of the Spa Francorchamps track.

There is an absolute metric tonne of updates to the game with this update. So much so, that we think it’s best to give you the highlights:
- GT1 Series Added (Mercedes CLK LM, Porsche 911 GT1, McLaren F1 GTR LM)
- McLaren F1 LM added to Street Car Series
- Spa Francorchamps 2020 added as DLC
- Tracks now have a specific weather probability for more realistic random weather BUT “Real Weather” is disabled again until implementation is complete
- FFB can now be customised by car
- Improved netcode
- BoP Changes for GT3 (Added 15kg to Mclaren 720S, subtracted 10kg from Mercedes AMG GT3, added 10 HP to Porsche GT3-R for improved BoP)
- Revised tyre physics for street cars
However, good things aren’t always simple. There is a warning from the developers stating that they highly recommend users deleting their Documents/Automobilista 2 folder to avoid issues. Probably worthwhile backing it up before you do though.
This update also means that the Livery System Override is fully implemented too. You’ll now be able to replace in-game liveries on your local installation by replacing textures using the templates. To read more on how to do this, check out this post on the Reiza forums.
