Assetto Corsa EVO’s eagerly-anticipated early access launch is only a few weeks away.

However, it’s important to temper expectations. Not only will there be a limited number of cars and tracks at first, but you also won’t be able to race online with other players initially.

During a livestream interview with Overtake, Kunos Simulazioni’s Co-Founder and Executive Manager, Marco Massarutto, confirmed that Assetto Corsa EVO won’t have multiplayer in next month’s initial early access release.  

“The multiplayer will come in the second or third release in early access,” Massarutto confirmed, but no time scale was provided. When it launches, When it launches, we expect the online multiplayer to feature daily ranked races that utilises SimGrid’s platform as part of a partnership with Speed Capital.

“The first one will focus on the single player,” he added. With each build, Kunos will gather player feedback and continually add new content.

As such, the early access release will be priced accordingly with no subscription model. While Massarutto didn’t confirm specific pricing details, he revealed that the price “will rise accordingly” with the content in each build.

“That means of course that if you buy the game day one in early access – you don’t have to buy the additional content of the early access.”

The initial early access build will launch with “no less than 15 cars,” including the newly confirmed Alfa Romeo Junior Elettrica SUV and the previously seen Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm.

Early access builds will gradually add cars that are more “extreme and more powerful so that we can provide an experience that matches the game economy.” Massarutto also confirmed that the Ferrari 488 Evo will return from Assetto Corsa Competizione, but his comments suggest it won’t be in the the initial car list.

Assetto Corsa EVO launches in early access on 15 January, 2025, with an open world set on the Nurburgriing’s surrounding roads set to arrive in the summer and eventually expanding to cover 1,600km2.
