Asetek’s entry-level Initium Wheelbase launched with future Xbox compatibility

Danish sim racing hardware manufacturer Asetek Simsports has used Gamescom 2025 as a platform to officially launch its Initium range of entry-level products.

Starting with the Initium Wheelbase, the firm aims to make products to its exacting standards but at a more reasonable price point.

The Initium Wheelbase is compatible with PC and will also feature Xbox One and Series X|S compatibility at a later date, thanks to the release of an Xbox-specific steering wheel. Further details on this have not been revealed, however.

The Initium Wheelbase is rated at 5.5 Nm and features 16,384 degrees of responsiveness, and is priced at €399 / $349. 

The Initium range also introduces a cockpit, which is available to pre-order now, a two-pedal set, a clutch pedal with an upgraded spring kit, plus an Initium Steering Wheel.

The Initium brake pedal can also be upgraded with optional load cell or hydraulic kits, while the circular Initium Steering Wheel comes with 21 inputs, including two rotary encoders and a pair of magnetic shifters, and Asetek’s cable-free quick-release system.

An Initium Cockpit is also available for pre-order now, offering GT or Formula-style seating positions. Its steel construction and front casters also provide stability and portability, with the Asetek Forte seat available separately.

The Initium wheelbase can also be purchased now as part of two separate Initium bundle packages, as detailed below:
