American Truck Simulator’s V1.59 update adds tow to road feature

After a spell in open beta, American Truck Simulator’s V1.59 update is available to download now.

V1.59 isn’t a biggie in terms of new content and features, but developer SCS Software has implemented a much-requested tow-to-road mechanic.

If players fall off the road or get stuck in some scenery, they can select the ‘tow to road’ function via the Service menu (F7 key by default). This plops the player back in the last safe highway-based location so they can continue their journey without reverting to a service area (a small fee applies, too).

Other American Truck Simulator V1.59 improvements

The Damage and Finances widgets have been added in-game, providing immediate access to damage and financial information. This also offers an overview of your current finances, including your average profit over the last seven in-game days.

The widgets are displayed in the bottom-right corner of the screen when activated and can be turned on or off via the Widget Settings Menu.

The Skills screen has had its UI redesigned for better visibility, alongside wider UI tweaks, while traffic audio has been reworked, too. A couple of other minor upgrades are available in V1.59, with the full changelog listed at the bottom of this article.
