Simagic has unveiled the Alpha Evo Ultra wheelbase, capable of producing an arm-testing 28 Nm of torque.

The Ultra outputs 10 Nm more than Simagic’s previous flagship direct drive wheelbase, the Alpha Evo Pro, which was released in April this year, and it appears to share much of the previous product’s DNA.

Featuring zero-cogging technology to help produce smoother force feedback, the Ultra boasts a low-inertia servo motor, which uses a smaller rotor to boost responsiveness via a 21-bit encoder.

Constructed from aluminium alloy, the Ultra wheelbase will arrive with built-in support for Simagic’s upcoming Alpha Evo-compatible digital display unit, with a magnetic strip atop the Ultra providing a non-invasive linking method.

The front section also has a circular RGB light that can be tailored via telemetry to display when traction control or ABS is triggered, for example, with the wheelbase defying recent conventions set by the likes of Moza and Fanatec to be actively cooled.

Simagic will be unveiling the Alpha Evo Ultra at this week’s SimRacing Expo at Messe, Dortmund, which runs from 17th to 19th October, alongside its Zeus Formula steering wheel and P700 load cell pedals. Simagic will be located at Hall 3, booth BC6.
