Following the success of the 2022 ADAC SimRacing Expo, the event returns this year – only this time in a new location.
Formerly held within the confines of the fabled Nürburgring circuit, it moved to the Nürnberg’s Messe for its most recent event.
This time it moves further north to Dortmund and more specifically Messe Dortmund. Nearby towns include Cologne and Düsseldorf, should you want to throw in a spot of tourism into your driving game trip.
It’s also significantly earlier in the year, moving to an October time slot from December.
“It has been an incredible journey with the ADAC SimRacing Expo that we have started in 2018,” said Michael Wamser, CEO of organisers cowana GmbH.
“Developing the discipline and the fair itself was nearly impossible during the COVID-19 pandemic – now, our hunger for advancing sim racing and the fair is bigger than ever.
“In our talks, Messe Dortmund in particular has proven itself as a versatile and solution-oriented partner with an eye for the future and innovation.
“We plan to welcome more than 30,000 visitors from the metropolitan area this year and round out their visits with other topics like car tuning, entertainment electronics and a job fair.”
We visited for the first two days of last year’s event – which totalled over 21,000 visitors – and enjoyed our stay, testing out the latest sim racing equipment before it went on sale. Let’s hope the change of location brings a bigger audience, further exhibitors and shines a light on sim racing.
