Just a month after RaceRoom’s huge September updates, which included overhauled graphics and comprehensive DTM 1995-themed content, KW Studios has revealed the latest set of improvements coming to the free-to-play sim.

First off, the developer has increased the performance of its graphics engine by tidying up the sim’s rendering code as a first step towards upgrading the overall game engine.

The headline feature of RaceRoom’s October update is its range of track updates. First up, Salzburgring and Hungaroring will receive visual overhauls, bringing them up to their requisite 2024 versions. And best of all, these will be free updates for those who already own the content.

This means when you drive on the Hunagroring you will get to experience the same kerbs and run-off areas as this season’s Formula 1 drivers, while the Salzburgring sees brand-new pitlane entrance and chicane sections represented faithfully in-game.

The Nürburgring Nordschleife, Autódromo Internacional do Algarve (Portimao), Imola and Diepholz will also receive updates.

The Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) will also receive some attention in RaceRoom’s October update, with its in-car LED indicators completely overhauled.

Once the update drops, traction control and anti-lock brake system indicators will now show up to the left and right of the main central display, flashing when each system is activated while driving. This will also display when the pitlane speed limiter is in operation.
