Gran Turismo 7’s next update will include more Music Rally

Alongside three new cars, which are now confirmed, Music Rally is a genuine headline act for the June update as since Gran Turismo 7‘s launch in March 2022, nothing has been added for this mode.

At present, there are six challenges to play through and upon completion, there is a ‘coming soon’ message where a seventh event could be. This will change, when the next patch arrives tomorrow, 29th June 2023.

The following six new events will be added:

7: Good Old Days (Classixx Remix)
8: DRIFT
9: Marechià (With Célia Kameni)
10: Hooked on America
11: Lifeʼs Coming In Slow
12: Moon Over the Castle GT7 version

This part of the game sees you race between time-based checkpoints, reminding us of Sega Rally for instance, while the sound of a particular song plays rather loudly. The clock represents the ‘beat’ of the track, so run out of beats and you can fail the event.

Alongside Music Rally, the aforementioned vehicles included are confirmed as:

• Aston Martin Valkyrie ’21
• Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution III GSR ’95
• Subaru Impreza Sedan WRX STi ’04

We explained the appeal of each following series lead Kazunori Yamauchi’s teaser tweet, but for us, the 11,100 rpm redline of the naturally aspirated Cosworth-developed V12 engine in the middle of the Valkyrie is the main attraction.

As ever, the Café will also be expanded, with two Extra Menus. This is where you unlock a reward for owning certain vehicles, and this time there are Subaru WRX and Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution-themed sets, both of which include the two new car additions.

Finally, ‘Monterey’ and ‘Field of Flowers’ scenes will be added to the scapes photography mode and Igor Omura Fraga’s 2023-season livery for the Brazilian’s real-world SUPER GT exploits (in a Lexus RC F GT3) will be added.
