OPLITE has released details of an interesting new sim rig concept designed with karters in mind. Based in France, OPLITE manufactures sim cockpits and chairs, as well as other sim racing peripherals such as microphone and monitor stands.
The OPLITE NitroKart rig features a kart-like fibreglass seat and sits extraordinarily low to the ground to simulate the typical kart driving position.
The rig features a number of adjustments and mounting solutions for pedals, wheels and monitors as well as adjustable seat pitch to suit the user.
One defining feature of the rig is that both kids and adults can use it, with suitability for heights between 1.2-1.95m. BTCC racer Matt Neal is unfortunately excluded, but most grown-ups and young adults under six foot three will be fine.
The rig also features an optional seat insert for switching between drivers of different heights – think of a 2011 Le Mans pit stop when Anthony Davidson swapped with Alex Wurz and you get the idea!
