  • LMU’s V1.4.0.0 update coming tomorrow alongside US Track Pack Part 1 DLC
  • V1.4 will feature new brake heating mechanic plus improved online reporting and multiplayer
  • New 2026-spec Hypercar tyres to be added that improve cold temperature grip

Le Mans Ultimate’s V1.4.0.0 update is set for release tomorrow (28th July 2026), but custodian Motorsport Games has already revealed what fans can expect to experience when it goes live.

The new update will coincide with the release of the first US Track Pack, which adds Laguna Seca and Daytona International Speedway to the game, with fans also expecting the 2026 versions of the Cadillac V-Series.R Evo and Alpine A424 Hypercars to appear.

As we previously reported, V1.4 will feature new multiplayer netcode to help improve the game’s online experience (users will also be able to report incidents directly from a race replay), a new brake thermal system to improve prototype braking realism and the implementation of an initially controversial ‘Joker’ system to help mitigate the negative effects of losing Safety and Driver Rating from race-ending incidents

To find out why the Joker system was controversial, and why it was rolled back slightly, check out our accompanying articles here and here.

However, with the update’s patch notes now available, we can see that the developers are set to overhaul in-game Hypercar tyres to reflect the changes made to the cars in the real-world FIA World Endurance Championship.

These are constructed from a higher percentage of recycled or renewable materials, and feature an interesting mosaic-style tread (although this soon wears through to look like normal slicks).

The key facet of the new rubber is that its cold-temperature performance has been improved immensely, with drivers experiencing outlaps up to five seconds quicker as tyres reach optimal temperatures quicker.

The main reason for this is safety, with drivers frequently complaining about cold tyres and unpredictable handling on their opening laps. This is exacerbated at Le Mans, where long straights and multiple car classes combine to make the going tricky.

Players will be happy to know that this feature works as intended in-game too, making life on new rubber that bit more bearable.

In addition, LMU is set to receive a huge number of bug fixes and optimisations and will include Brazilian Portuguese language support for the first time. A huge 2026 Circuit de la Sarthe art update will also drop, reflecting many of the real-world changes made to the 24 Hours of Le Mans venue.

MSG will also enable VR FOV resolution scaling via OpenXR and add AMD FSR 1.0 as a graphics option; the latter of which boosts game performance by utilising upscaling tech.
