MXGP 26 will be released in October 2026. The re-launch of the official FIM Motocross World Championship, now replete with a launch month, has also released a new gameplay trailer.

It will recreate the current 2026 season, with riders, bikes and tracks included across the main MXGP category and supporting MX2 class.

Publisher Nacon and developer Artefacts Studio have ditched the KT Engine technology used to create the underwhelming MXGP 24 (the most recent MXGP game) in favour of Unreal Engine 5.

Based on the trailer, it appears to have paid off in terms of circuit surroundings and road surfacing, with a particular shot of the mud-strewn environment and rider. Further rider animations, hopefully helping with handling and in-air movement, are also touted.

Dynamic terrain, an all-new helmet camera angle and rewritten motorcycle physics are also on the promised list.

Game modes are stated as Grand Prix (aka single race), Championship and Time Attack, plus a free-roam area dubbed The Compound. A ‘career’ mode doesn’t appear to feature. Online multiplayer will be available for up to 10 players, alongside licensed bike and clothing items, which appear to be customisable.

An exact release date is not yet known, when it arrives for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
