Another week, another Dave Cam Track Guide. It’s a popular race week on the iRacing service with the Ferrari GT3 Challenge. The series heads to Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps this week for a long, short event. These races are only 15 minutes long, and a lap time will usually last over two minutes around the 7.00-kilometer, 4.35-mile circuit.
The Spa course on the schedule utilises the Grand Prix Pits layout. The historic venue has 19 corners, every single one of which our Dave Cam has mastered. Dave is in the iRacing Ferrari 488 GT3 EVO, lapping in his new Heusinkveld Sim Rig GT, showing off how to get around the Belgian circuit. That includes racing lines and how to properly pit.
The slow, methodical approach is in play, as usual. Each long straight is capped off with a different technical turn. While some corners may be more forgiving, iRacing will still likely nab you for an off-track incident. Dave knows just how far to push the limits by taking it easy from the get go. Honestly, you can’t win it on lap one, but you can sure lose it, especially at a track like Spa.
